SCOTUS does not reign supreme

Filed under: Constitution, Talon, court, global war — Rosemary @ 2:30 pm

Many people are upset with the Thursday, June 12, 2008, decision that would allow for first time in American history (and 500 years of Common Law history) the right to a writ of habeas corpus for our enemy while in the midst of a war. I do not care to hear your tawdry arguments about whether we are or are not in a war. It has been declared against us by these so called unlawful combatants, so the issue is mute.

In case you have forgotten, please refresh your memory. Does it appear to you that we started this war? If you still believe we started this, you are a nut and I don’t have the time, desire, or the patience to explain to you how wrong you are and why. Just go somewhere and dig yourself a hole to hide in. The rest of this post is dedicated to the vast majority of readers who actually have functioning brain.

There are many things this rogue court has done, such as making its own laws and forcing them upon a population who have no recourse, taken upon themselves to be final arbiters of Military Justice, reading into the US Constitution rights that are not there, and on and on. This has to be stopped. If it is not, we shall surely die trying to correct it.

The US Constitution states quite clearly:

Article III
Section. 1. The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.

From this strict reading, it is the Congress who makes the laws and allows such courts to exist that may also strip these courts of all of their powers at any time. The reason this is not done, is because we are a country of laws. It used to be we were a country UNDER GOD, but I guess they may rule that out soon, too.

So what did they do this time that has gotten my panties in a wad? This latest decision that gives jihadis the right to use the same courts as I do. I am an American citizen who cannot redress of all these illegal aliens, some are jihadis it has been reported. But this is not the only thing. The major problem I am having is with the fact that it seems like many people do not understand the threat of Political Islam and global jihad.

They cannot be separated. There are many good Muslims, but they are not true Muslims. Just ask someone who actually follows the Kor’an as they are taught to do these days. These are also considered to be kafirs. They are not the people I am talking about, and I’m getting tired of saying so. We need to have an honest discussion about what is really happening.

We have learned much since the attacks on September 11, 2001. Some of us woke up and stayed awake, others of us went back to sleep. That is problem. How can we have an honest discussion with people who do not even consider themselves to be in danger of losing their very lives?

I came across this very concise and brilliant post by Jeffrey Imm over at CounterTerrorismBlog. The title of his article is, “Don’t You Know There’s A War On?” He is more qualified and capable of writing what I want to say at this moment. It may now be Monday, 5 days after the decision, but I am still too upset at the silence, the ignorance, and the sheer wrongheadedness of it all. Here is tease:

I am sending U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy a framed copy of a photograph of the remains of the World Trade Center West building after the 9/11 attacks with a note “Don’t You Know There’s A War On?“.

I hope you read this article. It may be lengthy, but it is worthwhile. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Smuggling nuclear weapons, blueprints

Filed under: News, Nuclear Weapons, Talon, UN, otb — Rosemary @ 3:00 am

This Sunday, 15 June 2008, the Washington Post had an article concerning the sale and distribution of nuclear weapons blueprints captured by the Swiss government in the year 2006 and they subsequently destroyed these documents under the supervision of the UN’s IAEA. However, the existence of these documents were already well known to the IAEA since at least 2005. This is now being denied.

The countries pursuing the materials and ‘know how’ to build a nuclear weapon are North Korea, Iran, Lybia and Syria. If Lybia had indeed given their nuclear program to the United States in the year 2004, I would suggest this had been an on going operation, and it could be plausible that the IAEA did not know about it at first. Plausible, but not likely.

So what does this mean to the United States and other countries in the world? Iran could become a nuclear power much sooner than anyone is anticipating, and all countries are sitting around doing nothing while depending on the United States to protect them all.

Well, I have a suggestion. Since NATO is toothless in Afghanistan due to their country’s orders of not to fire unless fired upon, go home. You are in our way. You are getting our men and women killed, and I hate that. Europe should start training their men and women on how to fight a real war, because we need partners. We do not need more people to babysit. I have never heard of waiting until you take a chance with your life before you have permission to shoot at the enemy. This is bogus. Europe does not believe they are in a war.

Getting back to the nuclear weapons smuggling ring, this is what the Washington Post has to say:

An international smuggling ring that sold bomb-related parts to Libya, Iran and North Korea also managed to acquire blueprints for an advanced nuclear weapon, according to a draft report by a former top U.N. arms inspector that suggests the plans could have been shared secretly with any number of countries or rogue groups. [Emphasis mine.]

The drawings, discovered in 2006 on computers owned by Swiss businessmen – Marco and Urs and their father, Friedrich Tinner – included essential details for building a compact nuclear device that could be fitted on a type of ballistic missile used by Iran and more than a dozen developing countries, the report states. Later it is revealed that Urs may have been helping the US intelligence, but this has neither been confirmed nor denied.

It is later discovered that the IAEA got caught in another lie, they had known about these documents since at least 2005 [Paragraph 8]. As for this anonymous diplomat, Iran had demanded he be expelled from Iran and the investigations because he was the only one asking the right questions and demanding to see sites that Iran did not want to answer any questions about their undermining everyone or reveal any SECRETS. I remember this person as I wrote about him at the time.

The documents that were seized contained over 1000 Gigabytes of data which were destroyed by our ‘friends’ the Swiss. At the same time, they do not know all of the information that was in those relevant documents. They claim to have done this to keep the jihadis from getting their hands on them, but I am a skeptic in this arena. I don’t have any proof, but I have a feeling there were some nefarious activities between the businessmen who had the documents, the Swiss government and the UN. After all, they were all doing business with Iran, and let us not forget the Oil for $$$ UN scandal.

The WaPo also shares with us that the information given to Lybia was old, so that may coincide with the age of these documents. However, there were also some very new, sophisticated blueprints and materials. There is also an acknowledgement that Israel did indeed take out Syria’s nuclear reactor. Maybe this is why Syria did not squawk like a chicken with its head cut off when the incident occurred? *heh*

Albright, a former IAEA inspector in Iraq…although an assessment late last year by U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Iran had discontinued its nuclear weapons program in 2003…His institute was the first to publicly identify the location of an alleged Syrian nuclear reactor that was destroyed by Israeli warplanes last September.

This next clip bothers the dickens out of me:

Iran also possesses medium-range ballistic missiles and is believed by U.S. government officials to be seeking the capability to build nuclear weapons in the future, although an assessment late last year by U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Iran had discontinued its nuclear weapons program in 2003. [Emphasis mine.]

What is wrong with this picture? Well, on its face you are left to believe that Iran is a logical country who only wants to keep the peace, right? WRONG! If they did stop production, it was because we had them surrounded! We had just gone into Iraq, we were already in Afghanistan, and they were shaking in their boots. We should have taken them out then while we had the advantage. No such luck with the Euro-pee-ons begging the State Department not to allow a total victory in this area due to the sweet business dealings the Euro-pee-ons had with Iran.

If this had been any dictator or communist, they never would have questioned the validity of their claims, such as the possession of long range missles. My goodness, who does NOT know this? BTW, thank you again, Israel for a job well done!

About Marco and Urs and their father, Friedrich Tinner. They had been smuggling these nuclear weapons and/or blueprints since the mid-1980’s. How is this Bush’s fault? Anyway…These were Swiss businessmen who worked with A. Q. Khan of Pakistan as noted by the USA and the IAEA. It was only after a year long intelligence effort by the UK and the USA that concluded in 2003 that they were stopped.

Hmm. Could this also have had something to do with the so-called stoppage by Iran? Makes one wonder…

A footnote: Khan is now trying to tell anyone that will listen that he was used by the Pakistani government as a scapegoat. Maybe that is why he only received house arrest? Either way, Pakistan is another problem we will most certainly continue to discuss.

Another black eye for the IAEA is that they are now denying the existence of the second weapon’s documents, although they have shared the intelligence with the USA.

Be careful as you read the article from WaPo, because they are trying to make the Pakistani government appear as though they were genuinely shocked. They were not. It is not very difficult to fool this nimrod they have at the helm of the IAEA. I could probably build a nuclear weapon right in front of him, and he would not even know it. (Not that I know how, I do not.) The article is full of some things I did not already know, many I had already knew, and some things I know that apparently they do not! lol. All in all, it is a good article.

Which leads me to this conclusion. There are probably still more copies of those blueprints out there, we need to step up the heat on Pakistan to allow us access to Khan, Pakistan needs to stop making deals with the Taliban and al Qaida, and they had better get back on the right path if they expect one single shiny penny from us.

Also, we live in a dangerous world. I wonder what it was like in WWII when airplanes were just coming into the battlefield? I know one thing. It won’t be the same if nuclear weapons become the weapon of choice. We must move decisively and promptly if we are to save the world from a major holocaust of a proportion that is unconceivable at this time. Almost as unconceivable as having two planes fly into the World Trade Center, one plane flying into the Pentagon, and being downed in a field in Pennsylvania.
