Alert: MAF Web-o-thon for the Troops!

Filed under: Love, milblogs, Military Families, otb, Talon, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 8:59 am

This Thursday there is going to be a wonderful 8 hours web-o-thon which will be streamlined live so that we may all participate in it. Move America Forward is doing a marvelous job of gathering everyone together, and I look forward to having each of you drop in for just a while.

The Eagles UP! and their blog, Talon, are also participating in this telethon. We would like to contribute to our men and women in the Armed Forces by sending them care packages. I know I do not want them to believe we have forgotten them or that they are unloved. No, not happening under my watch!

I love what Mike is going to do, starting June 18, 2008. He has started matching each donation by 10% of his own money. Isn’t he an angel? I think this is a wonderful idea. If you would like to help to help our Servemembers, please donate at the link for MAF at Eagles UP! so that we may help the amount blow the newspapers, congresspeople, and just everyone out of the pond.

As Melanie has reminded (again), we may think we are having a bad hair day, but can you imagine insignificant that would seem if we lived in Iraq, Iran, etc? How about the heat of 125-135 degrees with full gear on? Would you care to trade places? I know I’m very grateful to them for protecting our country, our lives, and their families and themselves. This is why we should be on the front lines caring for them. Because we want to.

The LiveStream will be located at UStream.TV. This will be on Thursday, June 26, and for more information please go here. Michelle Malkin will also be there, so we will have a double treat!

Here are a few articles that have been written and/or taken notice: The Sacramento Union: Special ‘Support the Troops’ Telethon June 26, The Radio Equalizer: A UNITED FRONT, Michelle Malkin: Six more days ’til the From the Frontlines web-a-thon, Radio & Records: More Support For All-Star Troop Benefit and HotAir: Hot Air TV alert: From the Frontlines web-a-thon, June 26.

The name of the Telethon is “From The Frontlines”.

On June 26, from 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific to 12midnight Eastern/9pm Pacific, Melanie and I will be anchoring a livestreamed, 8-hour fund-raising “web-a-thon” to send the largest number of care packages to our troops overseas in U.S. history. We’ve got a star-studded line-up participating in this effort to support our military, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dr Laura Schlessinger, Ollie North, Monica Crowley, Ann Coulter, Nancy Reagan, actor Kelsey Grammer, and Five for Fighting’s John Ondrasik. You’ll be able to tune it at Hot Air and on UStream, embed the broadcast on your own blogs, and even catch some of the show on your radio dial if you’re lucky to be in the listening area of a radio station partner. [Hat tip: Hot Air]

I pray I happen to have one of those radio stations which is close enough so I may be listen to it live! Wow! Have a great day.

PS. Melanie has already raised close to $250,000. We are trying to a goal of $500,000. Please help us. We want to show those *ahem* ‘people’ in Washington what it’s like to actually SUPPORT THE TROOPS. Thanks.

URGENT: Operation Love From Home

Filed under: home, Love, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 2:04 pm

Today is June 10, 2008. That means we only have 4 days left to reach our goal of 5000 ‘Thank you’ cards for our Servicemembers in Afghanistan. Please send whatever you can, even if it’s only one card. It will be greatly appreciated.

Here is some information:

4TH OF JULY CARD DRIVE

FOR DEPLOYED TROOPS

The Mission: To collect at least 5,000 “thank you” cards for troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The majority of the cards collected will go to a unit currently stationed in an extremely harsh and remote area of Afghanistan.

The Reason: Being away from home and living in harsh conditions with combat & constant danger is difficult ~ our troops need to know we have not forgotten them!!! Mail from home helps to keep our troops’ morale strong, making a very real difference in their lives. It keeps them motivated and focused when they know we care about them!

The Address: Send your signed, unsealed thank-you cards to the following address:

Mrs. Kathy Orr

OPERATION: LOVE FROM HOME

P.O. Box 1660
Loganville GA 30052

ALL CARDS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2008.

The Guidelines:

Ø The cards can be handmade or store-bought. This is a great opportunity to get your Scout troop, school, church and other civic organizations involved in doing something to show support for our troops.
Ø Please do not write the date on your cards
Ø Please, no glitter on the cards. Because of the intended destination of the cards, nothing “shiny” should be sent for safety & security reasons.

*IMPORTANT: This is not a “dating service.” Please do not send suggestive or otherwise inappropriate cards or materials. Please also refrain from making political statements of any nature. We will be reading and screening every card received to ensure that the above guidelines are adhered to. Remember: This is strictly to let the troops know that we love them, we are proud of them and that WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN them! If you have any questions, please contact us at LoveFromHome@Gmail.com or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoveFromHome.

If you would like to continue helping, you may by going to Operation Love From Home’s homepage and on the sidebar press *Current Projects*.

I also have a link to an interview Kat had on the 104.7 The Fish FM, and here is the link: INTERVIEW. Please forgive me. It aired on the 5th of June, and I am just getting to it. Please don’t punish our men and women because of my slowness. Show them that we really do care. After all, would you have bothered to read this far if you didn’t care? If you didn’t support them? 😉

Thank you for all that you do. May God have you in His favor today, and may He keep you out of harms way. Have a nice day.

Help Kat help our troops

Filed under: help, Love, otb, support, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 2:04 am

Dear Kat is having time of it trying to collect 5000 cards to send to our troops. Okay, I may not be able to type, but I have her permission to use her email. You’ve helped us before to help the troops. Please help us to send a note of appreciation this 4th of July. They’ve earned it.

Good morning, everyone! Just wanted to drop you a note to update you on the status of our Operation Love From Home 2008 4th of July card drive for the troops. Sadly, we are still far, far short of our 5,000-card goal…we have in our possession slightly less than 1,500 cards. We’ve extended the deadline until JUNE 14, 2008. Please do all you can to help get the word out, and send in a card or two! Every single card/letter helps tremendously, and truly makes a very real difference! An empty P.O. Box means less 4th of July Thank You cards & letters going to our troops.

In other news, please check our our website (www.OperationLoveFromHome.org)! We’ve made some new additions as we fine-tune our site:

Send an “e-card” to the troops…fill out our online form with your message to the troops; we will insert your messages into a “Thank you!” card and ship them over!

Check our our “Quotes” and “More Quotes” links, to see what the soldiers – and others – have to say about the importance of receiving mail from home!

New blog entries on the front page.

New Pictures in Photo Album from last week’s card-signing memorial day service at my church, where we collected an additional 226 cards in one day! 😉

On Saturday, we are having our First Annual Bake Sale & Card Signing Extravaganza at American Legion Post 233 on Highway 78 in Loganville, Georgia. Feel free to come by if you are in the area! We’ll have a TON of super-delicious baked goods, cake walks every hour, face painting & a bounce house for the kids, hotdogs & chips, popcorn, cotton candy, “Support Our Troops” bracelets & car magnets for sale, bunches of military-related freebies (first come, first served!) and, of course, lots cards to sign for the troops!

Next week, I am excited to announce that I will be taping a brief interview with the morning show of a major Atlanta Christian radio station, 104.7 The Fish (www.TheFishAtlanta.com)! I am not sure yet when it will air, but will let you as soon as I know… you can listen online via their website. Keep your fingers crossed — this could be a HUGE help in terms of getting folks actively involved in supporting our troops!!! There will be a lot of activity in the coming months as we grow and expand our mission of sending our heroes “Love from home!”

Thanks everyone, for all you do for our soldiers. YOU ARE THE BEST!

Yes, you are the best helpers I’ve known. I do appreciate so very much everything you do for our troops. Have a nice day, and God bless you.

Operation Love From Home ALERT

Filed under: Gratitude, Love, ota, otb, supplies, support, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 10:52 pm

I need everyone to post about this. Kat is having her annual Fouth of July ‘Thank you’ card run, and she only has 500 cards so far. We can do better than this! She will be on the radio tomorrow at 2-3 pm EST at station AFB Radio with CJ CajunLady. Please tune in. The link to the station is America’s Freedom Broadcast Radio. On the left-hand side there is a ‘Listen now’ button. Just click on it.

The link to this radio program is AFB Radio. The link to Kat’s site is Operation Love From Home. The last day she can accept any UNSEALED ‘Thank you’ cards is June 14, 2008. Remember, they have to be read and mailed. They are read as a precaution. This is not a dating service, so don’t send love cards please!

Kat has done so much for our troops, and all we have to do is mail her some “Thank you” cards. That’s it. It’s that simple. I’m sure you all know people who would like to contribute. Don’t you remember those leftover cards you put in a drawer somewhere? Now you can use them! Not that I’m saying leftovers are okay but if that’s all you have, please send them. Help us to help her reach 5000 cards. Help her to help our men and women in uniform. Show them that you still support them.

All ‘Thank you’ cards must be signed and UNSEALED. Mail these cards to:

Mrs. Kathy Orr
OPERATION: LOVE FROM HOME
P.O. Box 1660
Loganville, Georgia 30052

If you have any questions, please contact her at LoveFromHome AT Gmail DOT com. Her site is Operation Love From Home. If you listen to the radio program, you may notice that the deadline is June 7. She has extended it, so don’t worry about being wrong. Thank you for all your support, and you may copy this if you like. 😉

Semper Fi! – David Thibodeaux

Filed under: courage, God, Love, Marines, music, Peace, Remember, War — Rosemary Welch @ 6:50 am

Below is a message from this Marine in his own words:

A fellow Marine and I wrote, and I recorded a song titled “Not Ready To End The Fight.” This song was inspired by the fact that I, like many Americans, don’t particularly appreciate the underlying message behind the Dixie Chicks’ song “Not Ready To Make Nice.” While I did like the underlying music from song, the lyrics’ just didn’t sit well with me, many of my colleagues and other Americans. After being urged on by friends, family, and colleagues I decided to record “Not Ready To End The Fight” to make a point, criticize, comment and answer the Dixie Chicks song and all the other Hollywood stars that constantly overestimate my interest in their personal politics and their level of competence in foreign policy and about how our Country should be run and how they imply they know what is better for this Country than our elected officials.

I know there are very complicated issues that must be considered when undertaking a war. I certainly don’t pretend to have the solutions to any foreign policy issues. I also know that smart people can look at the same set of facts and events and often reach different conclusions. That is probably a good thing! So anyone who characterizes these very complicated terrorism and war issues as very easy-and-simple need to try to at least try to see the other side of the issue… no matter what side you are on.

I am just an ordinary “country boy” who feels like I need to speak up about my personal opinions, experiences, and exercise my freedom of speech! I am 23, a husband, a father, a full time Marine and part time musician. I am not a celebrity or politician, nor do I know any. My wife and I are hardworking, religious, family oriented, patriotic Americans. We each were born and reared in small-town Louisiana. I grew up in Eunice, Louisiana. I also have family in Texas. My wife, newborn son, and I live in the Washington, D.C. area where I am presently stationed. We are blessed with large supportive families.

To make a contribution to the Country and the war effort, I joined the Marine Corps upon my graduation from high school. I have served in combat in both Afghanistan and Iraq with extraordinarily unselfish and brave Americans.

Thanks to everyone who strongly supports the military and our mission! Your prayers and appreciation make our job gratifying!

Semper Fi! – David Thibodeaux

Dear David Thibodeaux, Sir, Thank you for your service and all the sacrifices your families have made for us. We shall be eternally grateful. God bless you.

The ‘Typical Black Man’

Filed under: honor, Love, Peace, prejudice — Rosemary Welch @ 10:59 pm

The ‘typical black man’, in my experiences, is a hard-working, Church-going, God-fearing, fun-loving, family-centered, gracious man. Those are the men I have known. I could not, nor would I, try to define the behavior and thoughts of a whole race. Neither should anyone else try to define anyone by their race. Here in my side of reality, we call that prejudiced.

Prejudice: Main Entry: 1prej·u·dice.

Pronunciation: \ˈpre-jə-dəs\

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin praejudicium previous judgment, damage, from prae– + judicium judgment — more at JUDICIAL.
Date: 13th century

1: injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one’s rights; especially: detriment to one’s legal rights or claims.

2a (1): preconceived judgment or opinion (2): an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge b: an instance of such judgment or opinion c: an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics.

synonyms see PREDILECTION.

Learn more about “prejudice” and related topics at Britannica.com.

Hopefully we can agree that anyone’s personal definition of any word deminishes the value of said word. Take for example colors. How could I explain any color to a person who is blind and never saw? Everyone has their own perception of what a particular word means. Take me. I started to look up the word, ‘Racism’. I used google, and I could not find the above definition. Was I surprised? You bet!

All this time I have believed racism to have the meaning of the definition above. Even I am open to learning something new! (lol)

So what is my point? Why do I say, ‘the typical black man’? Because apparently some people cannot see that what Obama said about his grandmother is rather prejudiced. How can I tell? Is his grandmother ‘typical’? NO! This man is over 40 years old. That means his grandmother was one of those people who put up with all the white hypocrites and bigots of her time (1940’s-50’s) when it wasn’t ‘cool’ to have interracial marriages. As a matter of fact, in some states it was illegal!

Could this be part of her anxiety? Perhaps. I honestly have no idea, since I prefer to see a black man when I am walking down the street late at night. Why? Because they are familiar to me. They have protected me, nurtured me, and loved me. I thank all of you (and you know who are) for all of your kindness and love. I just wish I could be a better proponent to speak on this (and other) topics.

Being Mohawk Indian and Armenian, I don’t even have a country I can go back to! Besides that, I’m not going anywhere. THIS IS MY COUNTRY TOO. I love this land, and I love our people. If y’all want to seperate yourselves from each other, you are stupid. You will miss ever having an opportunity to meet me. (*_*)

I hope and I pray that someday soon we can all just sit down at the same table for dinner and fellowship, and who was the most harmed by who is NOT a topic of discussion anymore. Until we move past THAT, there is no healing. Trust me, been there and done that. I speak of what I know, and it is the truth. God bless us all. If we don’t accept His blessing, we certainly are damned. Not by God, not by the white man, but by our own hatred. Remember that the next time you take communion…

Sunday, a day of rest?

Filed under: God, Jesus, Love, obey, otb, worship — Rosemary Welch @ 3:53 am

I tried. I really, truly tried to rest today. I just couldn’t do it.

Today is the LORD’s day, and we are supposed to take the day off to honor Him and be grateful for all He has done. I am so very grateful, so why can’t I rest?

My mind is too busy, and it is not fixed on Him. It must be. That is the only explanation I am able to find. That is, if I desire to be honest with myself.

Does anyone have any books or posts on the importance of resting on the Sabbath? I have found one (of many) that may answer my question. I shall share it with anyone else who has ever struggled with this same issue:

The Meaning of the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11)
By: Bob Deffinbaugh, Th.M. (Bio)

Introduction.

As I sat at breakfast with a friend this week, discussing this message, I told Don that I could not conceive of a way to teach on the Sabbath in less than two lessons. He confessed to me that he was wondering how I would “fill up” one message with the subject. The reason why so much time is required is that there are so many other texts in the Scripture which deal with the Sabbath. To illustrate how much material there is to cover beyond the Old Testament texts, in one of the books recently published on the Sabbath [243] the one chapter dealing with the Sabbath in the Old Testament has about 20 pages, including numerous footnotes. There are ten additional chapters, containing over 350 additional pages. Thus, if we are to understand the Sabbath, we must consider more than its Old Testament texts. If you look up the terms “Sabbath,” “Sabbaths,” and “rest” in a concordance you will find the reason for a more extended study of this subject.

There is another reason why the Sabbath is a subject worthy of our thorough investigation: the Sabbath is one of the most important commandments of the ten. It is a part of those commandments related to our relationship with and our worship of God. It is also the commandment chosen to be the “sign” of the entire Mosaic Covenant (Exodus 31:13). A violation of this commandment is to result in the death penalty (Exodus 31:14).

Last, learning the meaning of the Sabbath will provide us with a most valuable lesson in how to study, interpret, and apply the Scriptures. The difference between education and indoctrination is the difference between a process and a product. Indoctrination gives you the product—what you should think—but it does not convey the process—how to think. Given this distinction, most sermons would have to be called indoctrination, not education. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with indoctrination, other than the fact that without education, those who are taught will always be dependent upon the teacher, who must tell them what to think.

In my sermons I have always sought to combine indoctrination and education. I attempt to communicate the process by which I have arrived at my product so that sooner or later you will discover, to your delight, that you have gained a fair bit of information, but that you have also learned how to study the Bible on your own. One of the greatest rewards I ever receive as a teacher is to see my listeners become students of the Word, so that they see for themselves whether or not my conclusions are rooted in the text of Scripture.

The most difficult portion of Scripture to study for most Christians is the Old Testament. Not only do we find the culture of the Ancient Near East foreign and the events unrelated to us, but when we do discover a biblical principle we are not sure that it applies to the New Testament saint, and if so, how.

The Fourth Commandment provides us with an excellent opportunity to sharpen our interpretive skills. The commandment is found early in the Pentateuch (the five books of the Bible written by Moses, the first five books of the Bible). Two related texts come before Exodus 20:8-11, but there are many Sabbath passages in the rest of the Old Testament and in the New. Because this passage comes so early in the Bible, we are able to learn how the later Old Testament writers interpreted and applied the Sabbath teaching of the Fourth Commandment. We then can turn to the New Testament, to see how the Pharisees misinterpreted and applied this commandment, and how our Lord corrected them. Finally, we can find the interpretation of the Sabbath as provided us by the teaching of the apostles and the Book of Hebrews. We have the privilege to look over the shoulder of the prophets, apostles, and even our Lord, to learn from them the way to interpret and apply the Old Testament Scriptures. This, my reader friend, is a rare privilege, which should make better Bible students of all of us.

And lest you think that all of my comments above are but a preparation for the study of an irrelevant text (where we learn a method, but get no message), I can assure you that the Fourth Commandment is related to more than the question of whether or not the State of Texas should repeal its “Blue Laws.” Surrounding the subject of the Sabbath are many differences of opinion, some of the strongest opinions are held by those who are Christians. There is one denomination (which some call a cult), the Seventh Day Adventists, who have chosen to hang their hat on this commandment as one of the touchstones of the faith. The principles we will discover from our study of the Sabbath will take us to where “the rubber meets the road.”

In this lesson, then, we will focus on the meaning of the Sabbath to the Old Testament saint. We will study the major Sabbath texts in the Law (the Pentateuch) and the Prophets (the rest of the Old Testament). We will then isolate several principles from these passages and explore their practical implications for each of us. In the next lesson we will turn to the New Testament, where we will first consider the twisted view of the Fourth Commandment held by the scribes and Pharisees, who were ready to stone our Lord as a Sabbath-breaker. We will consider our Lord’s defense of His actions and learn the correct interpretation and application of the Sabbath. Then, we will study the meaning of the Sabbath as taught by the apostles through their epistles. Finally we will attempt to determine the meaning and application of the Sabbath for the New Testament Christian. [Continue reading.]

That is just the introduction. These Pastors at Bible.org are amazing. Whenever I have a question, all I have to do is use their search. Now, let me tell ya, sometimes it does tricky! You will learn your way around if you just keep chosing different sections. Just like I keep doing. lol.

I’ve read up to the point where I copied it, so I know you won’t mind if I excuse myself so that I may continue reading. I really need to know this so that my relationship with the LORD will deepen and grow. I Jesus so much. How could I say I have a relationship with Him if I do not understand Him? Thank you, and have a blessed night (and a great week).

Gratitude abounds

Filed under: Bible, dead, God, hell, life, Love, otb, Prayers — Rosemary Welch @ 4:32 am

I awake this feeling almost everyday. I’d be lieing if I claimed everyday. Some days I forget or am too wrapped up within myself to see the bigger picture. But for a moment, then I remember, gratefully. I am alive, I live in the greatest nation ever on the planet earth, I can walk, I can talk, I can breathe on my own, I can laugh, I can create, I can write. All of these things I can do at my will without fear of repercussion.

We may be only 4% of the world’s population, but we are the wealthiest in spirit, wealthiest in materialistic ways, wealthiest in choices and wealthiest by the grace of God. Had He not had His Gracious hand over us, we would have surely met disaster many times over.

So why is it that people would like to make this a muslim nation when each and every muslim nation is horrendous? Why would they desire we forget about our Creator? Could it be because they do not like what is right and love what is evil? Could it be possible that it has been so long that they do not know the difference?

Aha! But I say, “NO!” Why? Because the Bible says no. In Romans 1:18-32, (all bolding is mine)

God’s Wrath Against Mankind
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–His eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that were made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Wow. That’s a mouthful, eh? Have I ever done any of these things? Yes. Do I struggle at times still? Yes. But I know that there is One who Save me from death’s grip, and that is Jesus Christ, my LORD and Savior.

Remember as a child how we used to push our parents to find out where the bounderies were? Well, at the time we may not have known that’s what we were doing, but we all did it. That is because every creature, every human being, needs direction, guidance, love, discipline and correction.

That is why I am so grateful that I can practice my faith as a Christian in this country, no matter whether you like it or not.

Back to those verses, though. They say very much and give so much insight to the many seemingly unanswered questions we have of God. The answers can be found in this Bible and in these verses. Why does evil happen? Because we have turned away from God, we have told Him He is no longer needed in our schools, and His Ten Commandments? Why that’s illegal! Poppy-cock! You may sit down for this and allow it to happen, but I will not.

It is necessary for us to fight the American-Communist-Legal-Union (ACLU) with everything we have. The truth is on our side, and if we don’t, then who will? Could you please answer me that? We fought the godless communists, only to find them in our schools teaching our children and throwing out God! HOW DARE THEY! They were able to do this because we were asleep. Also, we did not know our own Constitution! They knew it better than we did.

Well my dear readers, it is time we educated ourselves. They have infested our Churches to the point where no one even speaks about Hell or fire and brimstone! Are you okay with that? This is not a church. It is a place where people gather to pretend they are christians. If you attend such a Church, I recommend you quickly find one that knows the Word of God and teaches it to everyone. We are all His disciples, not just the Pastor. Do not leave all the work up to him. You have your own Cross to bear.

Excuse me, I get upset when I consider the state of affairs of my beloved country and the world. But the reason I am so grateful?

The LORD Appears to Solomon: 2Chronicles 7:11-22.
11When Solomon had finished the temple of the LORD and the royal palace, and succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the LORD and in his own palace, 12the LORD appeared to him at night and said:

“I have heard your prayer and have this place for Myself as a temple for sacrifices.”

13“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among My people, 14if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will always be there.”

17As for you, if you walk before Me as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe My decrees and laws, 18I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a man to rule over Israel.'”

19But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20then I will uproot Israel from My land, which I have given them, and I will reject this temple I have consecrated for My Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshipping and serving them–that is why He brought all this disaster on them.'”

Wow. It is absolutely amazing how we can search for answers in the Bible and go to two entirely different books, the first being the New Testament-the latter being the Old Testament, and we come right back to the righteousness of the LORD. I was seeking the prayer in which God promises to heal our land, but I do not like to take verses out of context. That is why they are so long. In case you were wondering. lol.

Yes, this is my great hope. That we would all repent of our sins, turn from our wicked way, and seek the LORD with all of our heart, our mind, our soul and our strength. Day and night. Do you need a reason to pray? Pray for our men and women in uniform who are keeping you free. Show them your gratitude, although they may never know it. God will know it, and He will account to you. Pray for the sick, the elderly, the lost. There are so many things about which you could pray!

The most important prayer of all, though, is the prayer you pray when you make the decision to ask the LORD Jesus to come into your heart and forgive your sins. Yes, it is by far the most important. That does not mean the others do not count, they do! We are just talking, you and me, about which is the most important.

If your Church no longer asks people if they are Christians, then it is not a Christian Church. RUN out of there. Just because the building claims to be a Church, does not make it so. Please, come with me. We can have Bible study over the net! It is better than worshipping other gods. No, you do not have to be a Christian to join a fellowship, but you must abide by the Christian commandments. They are the same as the Jewish commandments.

I am grateful that the LORD has taken my place and freed me from my sin. I am grateful for His direction. He leads me away from evil. I love Him, and I am very grateful that He loves me. God bless you all. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

9/11 and The Military

Filed under: 9/11, courage, faith, friends, Love, milblogs, Military, Military Families, USA — Rosemary Welch @ 9:10 pm

I’ve been through many things in my life, and I’ve come out of each of them scathed but alive. This thing? I still do not have the words. Nothing compares. My apologies.

I have found some people who have written beautifully about people they did not even know. Maybe they speak for me?

First we have one from 123beta called, “Never Forget.” It is beautifully written and well researched. Very great job. Then there is an article from Blue Star Chronicles called “More Thoughts on 9/11. This is a well thought and researched article. I can only imagine the difficulty as they went deeper into this person’s life.

The one that touched me the most, however, was written by DeMediacratic Nation. It is called, “2996 Jill Marie Maurer Campbell: A 9/11 Tribute. Maybe it’s because of Jill, or maybe it’s because of the research. Somehow, I was very touched.

Last year (or was it the year before?) there was an opportunity for bloggers to receive a name and to do a story about that person’s life. I was misled into believe it was spam. I regret that now, but I don’t know if I could have handled it, to be honest. Thank you to everyone who stepped-up to the plate and did your (and my) part in remembering these beautiful people.

Lest we forget…

On this day, let us remember also all of those who are in harms way to protect us here at home. Whether they are first responders or Rangers in the Marines, I want to send a great big THANK YOU to you. You are not forgotten, no matter what you may read or hear. For every piece of trash that is out there, you can be sure that there is at least 100-1,000 times more support for you that will never hear about because it does not fit the agenda. But don’t you ever think that this support doesn’t exist. Just ask Morgan, my Hero. 🙂

No day of remembrance would be complete without the inclusion of Blackfive’s site. One of the authors, Mr. Wolf, has written a very good article about another site, Home Of Heroes. This man, Mr. Doug Sterner, is collecting all of the information about the medals EARNED, no matter their rank or service, or even when they served. This is an awesome site that I highly recommend. Even when you are not losing heart!

This is a heartfelt post about a Polish woman who wanted us to know that we are not alone. God bless this woman’s heart! (Written by Blackfive.)

Blackfive has posted an article about a man who KNEW he was going to die, but he went back into the inferno to save those who were still inside. This is the kind of man he has always been. Now we are trying to get President Bush to honor him with the Medal of Honor. Please sign this petition for Rick Rescorla. You may read Blackfive’s ‘Someone You Should Know’ here.

There is so much more at Blackfive’s site. Please visit his site today and often.

There is also a site I would like to include. This would be Mudville Gazette. This is a fine site that is run sometimes by Greyhawk’s wife when he is called to serve. He is a true man. He answers the call. He also has a fine post about Rick. He has some more and different information that may interest you. Please check it out.

I’d like to write more, but I can no longer see the screen…have a nice day.

On this day, 9/11/2007, I choose this post for my open trackback. What better post than one which is devoted to both on that horrific day and for our Troops who are yet in harms way?

God bless you, Dr. James Kennedy. RIP

Filed under: Church, dead, Jesus, Love, redeem(ed), Religion — Rosemary Welch @ 6:18 pm

I am a disabled person, so I have to go to Church on TV. Dr. James Kennedy was my Pastor for many years, but he had a stroke many months ago. Today was his last. He has asked that we do not shed a tear for him for he is now without pain, he is the House of God! What a joyfulness!

We will certainly miss you, Pastor Kennedy. I pray that you rest in His Peace.
