Whales worth more than Sailors

Filed under: animals, court, global war, otb, Talon — Rosemary Welch @ 11:03 pm

That is the only reason I can understand the ruling of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Apparently, they believe they are more apt to run a war than the Admirals themselves, and this decision proves them so vastly wrong.

Even Justice Kennedy couldn’t swallow this one:

Under the guidance of Anthony Kennedy, the Supremes have lately taken to arrogating war powers to themselves. (See here.) But even Justice Kennedy may blanch at National Resources Defense Council v. Winter. In that case, the Ninth Circuit ruled that preparing the Navy to fight in a time of war was not an “emergency,” and that our sailors must stop training lest their sonar harm . . . whales.

Just tipping you off as to what to watch for in the next round of SCOTUS decisions. There is a possibility this will never be decided, but the Supremes have decided to at least hear it. That is a step in the right direction.

This should also give us pause to consider who we vote for when we vote. I am not endorsing anyone here, I am just suggesting that we try to find out as much as we can about their policies – especially in matters such as judges – so that we may make an informed decision.

I have just one question really. If we are in a war and need to practice and train, and this is not considered an emergency; what, pray tell, is?

Alert: MAF Web-o-thon for the Troops!

Filed under: Love, milblogs, Military Families, otb, Talon, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 8:59 am

This Thursday there is going to be a wonderful 8 hours web-o-thon which will be streamlined live so that we may all participate in it. Move America Forward is doing a marvelous job of gathering everyone together, and I look forward to having each of you drop in for just a while.

The Eagles UP! and their blog, Talon, are also participating in this telethon. We would like to contribute to our men and women in the Armed Forces by sending them care packages. I know I do not want them to believe we have forgotten them or that they are unloved. No, not happening under my watch!

I love what Mike is going to do, starting June 18, 2008. He has started matching each donation by 10% of his own money. Isn’t he an angel? I think this is a wonderful idea. If you would like to help to help our Servemembers, please donate at the link for MAF at Eagles UP! so that we may help the amount blow the newspapers, congresspeople, and just everyone out of the pond.

As Melanie has reminded (again), we may think we are having a bad hair day, but can you imagine insignificant that would seem if we lived in Iraq, Iran, etc? How about the heat of 125-135 degrees with full gear on? Would you care to trade places? I know I’m very grateful to them for protecting our country, our lives, and their families and themselves. This is why we should be on the front lines caring for them. Because we want to.

The LiveStream will be located at UStream.TV. This will be on Thursday, June 26, and for more information please go here. Michelle Malkin will also be there, so we will have a double treat!

Here are a few articles that have been written and/or taken notice: The Sacramento Union: Special ‘Support the Troops’ Telethon June 26, The Radio Equalizer: A UNITED FRONT, Michelle Malkin: Six more days ’til the From the Frontlines web-a-thon, Radio & Records: More Support For All-Star Troop Benefit and HotAir: Hot Air TV alert: From the Frontlines web-a-thon, June 26.

The name of the Telethon is “From The Frontlines”.

On June 26, from 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific to 12midnight Eastern/9pm Pacific, Melanie and I will be anchoring a livestreamed, 8-hour fund-raising “web-a-thon” to send the largest number of care packages to our troops overseas in U.S. history. We’ve got a star-studded line-up participating in this effort to support our military, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dr Laura Schlessinger, Ollie North, Monica Crowley, Ann Coulter, Nancy Reagan, actor Kelsey Grammer, and Five for Fighting’s John Ondrasik. You’ll be able to tune it at Hot Air and on UStream, embed the broadcast on your own blogs, and even catch some of the show on your radio dial if you’re lucky to be in the listening area of a radio station partner. [Hat tip: Hot Air]

I pray I happen to have one of those radio stations which is close enough so I may be listen to it live! Wow! Have a great day.

PS. Melanie has already raised close to $250,000. We are trying to a goal of $500,000. Please help us. We want to show those *ahem* ‘people’ in Washington what it’s like to actually SUPPORT THE TROOPS. Thanks.

SCOTUS does not reign supreme

Filed under: Constitution, court, global war, Talon — Rosemary Welch @ 2:30 pm

Many people are upset with the Thursday, June 12, 2008, decision that would allow for first time in American history (and 500 years of Common Law history) the right to a writ of habeas corpus for our enemy while in the midst of a war. I do not care to hear your tawdry arguments about whether we are or are not in a war. It has been declared against us by these so called unlawful combatants, so the issue is mute.

In case you have forgotten, please refresh your memory. Does it appear to you that we started this war? If you still believe we started this, you are a nut and I don’t have the time, desire, or the patience to explain to you how wrong you are and why. Just go somewhere and dig yourself a hole to hide in. The rest of this post is dedicated to the vast majority of readers who actually have functioning brain.

There are many things this rogue court has done, such as making its own laws and forcing them upon a population who have no recourse, taken upon themselves to be final arbiters of Military Justice, reading into the US Constitution rights that are not there, and on and on. This has to be stopped. If it is not, we shall surely die trying to correct it.

The US Constitution states quite clearly:

Article III
Section. 1. The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.

From this strict reading, it is the Congress who makes the laws and allows such courts to exist that may also strip these courts of all of their powers at any time. The reason this is not done, is because we are a country of laws. It used to be we were a country UNDER GOD, but I guess they may rule that out soon, too.

So what did they do this time that has gotten my panties in a wad? This latest decision that gives jihadis the right to use the same courts as I do. I am an American citizen who cannot redress of all these illegal aliens, some are jihadis it has been reported. But this is not the only thing. The major problem I am having is with the fact that it seems like many people do not understand the threat of Political Islam and global jihad.

They cannot be separated. There are many good Muslims, but they are not true Muslims. Just ask someone who actually follows the Kor’an as they are taught to do these days. These are also considered to be kafirs. They are not the people I am talking about, and I’m getting tired of saying so. We need to have an honest discussion about what is really happening.

We have learned much since the attacks on September 11, 2001. Some of us woke up and stayed awake, others of us went back to sleep. That is problem. How can we have an honest discussion with people who do not even consider themselves to be in danger of losing their very lives?

I came across this very concise and brilliant post by Jeffrey Imm over at CounterTerrorismBlog. The title of his article is, “Don’t You Know There’s A War On?” He is more qualified and capable of writing what I want to say at this moment. It may now be Monday, 5 days after the decision, but I am still too upset at the silence, the ignorance, and the sheer wrongheadedness of it all. Here is tease:

I am sending U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy a framed copy of a photograph of the remains of the World Trade Center West building after the 9/11 attacks with a note “Don’t You Know There’s A War On?“.

I hope you read this article. It may be lengthy, but it is worthwhile. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Smuggling nuclear weapons, blueprints

Filed under: News, Nuclear Weapons, otb, Talon, UN — Rosemary Welch @ 3:00 am

This Sunday, 15 June 2008, the Washington Post had an article concerning the sale and distribution of nuclear weapons blueprints captured by the Swiss government in the year 2006 and they subsequently destroyed these documents under the supervision of the UN’s IAEA. However, the existence of these documents were already well known to the IAEA since at least 2005. This is now being denied.

The countries pursuing the materials and ‘know how’ to build a nuclear weapon are North Korea, Iran, Lybia and Syria. If Lybia had indeed given their nuclear program to the United States in the year 2004, I would suggest this had been an on going operation, and it could be plausible that the IAEA did not know about it at first. Plausible, but not likely.

So what does this mean to the United States and other countries in the world? Iran could become a nuclear power much sooner than anyone is anticipating, and all countries are sitting around doing nothing while depending on the United States to protect them all.

Well, I have a suggestion. Since NATO is toothless in Afghanistan due to their country’s orders of not to fire unless fired upon, go home. You are in our way. You are getting our men and women killed, and I hate that. Europe should start training their men and women on how to fight a real war, because we need partners. We do not need more people to babysit. I have never heard of waiting until you take a chance with your life before you have permission to shoot at the enemy. This is bogus. Europe does not believe they are in a war.

Getting back to the nuclear weapons smuggling ring, this is what the Washington Post has to say:

An international smuggling ring that sold bomb-related parts to Libya, Iran and North Korea also managed to acquire blueprints for an advanced nuclear weapon, according to a draft report by a former top U.N. arms inspector that suggests the plans could have been shared secretly with any number of countries or rogue groups. [Emphasis mine.]

The drawings, discovered in 2006 on computers owned by Swiss businessmen – Marco and Urs and their father, Friedrich Tinner – included essential details for building a compact nuclear device that could be fitted on a type of ballistic missile used by Iran and more than a dozen developing countries, the report states. Later it is revealed that Urs may have been helping the US intelligence, but this has neither been confirmed nor denied.

It is later discovered that the IAEA got caught in another lie, they had known about these documents since at least 2005 [Paragraph 8]. As for this anonymous diplomat, Iran had demanded he be expelled from Iran and the investigations because he was the only one asking the right questions and demanding to see sites that Iran did not want to answer any questions about their undermining everyone or reveal any SECRETS. I remember this person as I wrote about him at the time.

The documents that were seized contained over 1000 Gigabytes of data which were destroyed by our ‘friends’ the Swiss. At the same time, they do not know all of the information that was in those relevant documents. They claim to have done this to keep the jihadis from getting their hands on them, but I am a skeptic in this arena. I don’t have any proof, but I have a feeling there were some nefarious activities between the businessmen who had the documents, the Swiss government and the UN. After all, they were all doing business with Iran, and let us not forget the Oil for $$$ UN scandal.

The WaPo also shares with us that the information given to Lybia was old, so that may coincide with the age of these documents. However, there were also some very new, sophisticated blueprints and materials. There is also an acknowledgement that Israel did indeed take out Syria’s nuclear reactor. Maybe this is why Syria did not squawk like a chicken with its head cut off when the incident occurred? *heh*

Albright, a former IAEA inspector in Iraq…although an assessment late last year by U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Iran had discontinued its nuclear weapons program in 2003…His institute was the first to publicly identify the location of an alleged Syrian nuclear reactor that was destroyed by Israeli warplanes last September.

This next clip bothers the dickens out of me:

Iran also possesses medium-range ballistic missiles and is believed by U.S. government officials to be seeking the capability to build nuclear weapons in the future, although an assessment late last year by U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Iran had discontinued its nuclear weapons program in 2003. [Emphasis mine.]

What is wrong with this picture? Well, on its face you are left to believe that Iran is a logical country who only wants to keep the peace, right? WRONG! If they did stop production, it was because we had them surrounded! We had just gone into Iraq, we were already in Afghanistan, and they were shaking in their boots. We should have taken them out then while we had the advantage. No such luck with the Euro-pee-ons begging the State Department not to allow a total victory in this area due to the sweet business dealings the Euro-pee-ons had with Iran.

If this had been any dictator or communist, they never would have questioned the validity of their claims, such as the possession of long range missles. My goodness, who does NOT know this? BTW, thank you again, Israel for a job well done!

About Marco and Urs and their father, Friedrich Tinner. They had been smuggling these nuclear weapons and/or blueprints since the mid-1980’s. How is this Bush’s fault? Anyway…These were Swiss businessmen who worked with A. Q. Khan of Pakistan as noted by the USA and the IAEA. It was only after a year long intelligence effort by the UK and the USA that concluded in 2003 that they were stopped.

Hmm. Could this also have had something to do with the so-called stoppage by Iran? Makes one wonder…

A footnote: Khan is now trying to tell anyone that will listen that he was used by the Pakistani government as a scapegoat. Maybe that is why he only received house arrest? Either way, Pakistan is another problem we will most certainly continue to discuss.

Another black eye for the IAEA is that they are now denying the existence of the second weapon’s documents, although they have shared the intelligence with the USA.

Be careful as you read the article from WaPo, because they are trying to make the Pakistani government appear as though they were genuinely shocked. They were not. It is not very difficult to fool this nimrod they have at the helm of the IAEA. I could probably build a nuclear weapon right in front of him, and he would not even know it. (Not that I know how, I do not.) The article is full of some things I did not already know, many I had already knew, and some things I know that apparently they do not! lol. All in all, it is a good article.

Which leads me to this conclusion. There are probably still more copies of those blueprints out there, we need to step up the heat on Pakistan to allow us access to Khan, Pakistan needs to stop making deals with the Taliban and al Qaida, and they had better get back on the right path if they expect one single shiny penny from us.

Also, we live in a dangerous world. I wonder what it was like in WWII when airplanes were just coming into the battlefield? I know one thing. It won’t be the same if nuclear weapons become the weapon of choice. We must move decisively and promptly if we are to save the world from a major holocaust of a proportion that is unconceivable at this time. Almost as unconceivable as having two planes fly into the World Trade Center, one plane flying into the Pentagon, and being downed in a field in Pennsylvania.

‘My’ Soldier Came Home

Filed under: health, help, otb, Prayers, Talon, Troops — Rosemary Welch @ 7:00 pm

America’s Son came home from war alive and whole, so why do I feel such a loss? My sleep has been forced upon me, I forget to eat, I constantly check the email in the hopes that he’ll let me know he’s alright. After all, that is what we did for 18 months. He would let me know if he had to go dark. I must admit, I was not prepared for this darkness.

This is a rather unusual situation I find myself in, because this Soldier and I have never met. I could not pick him out in a crowd, yet we have shared the past year and half becoming friends while he was in Afghanistan. He never mentioned that he was in the kill zone. That means the Taliban were all around him.

I know I did not share in his experiences during this time. He was on the battleground while I was safely at home praying for him and his teams everyday–all day long. I believe it did work, too, because they all returned home alive and whole. At least in body.

The twist? I am ashamed to admit it, but I am sad. I thank God he made it home to his family! Not for one second do I regret that! Please do not misunderstand. I am just having a little bit of a difficult time of it. I feel a horrible loss. I miss my friend. I cannot serve another lonely man or woman in our Armed Forces until I resolve this.

I have done this four times before him, and I shall continue to do so. But no one told me about the consequences of getting involved with a person whom I do not know, will never meet, will pray for constantly, write to frequently, and then all of a sudden it’s over. I am no longer someone, I am no longer needed, and I don’t know if I’m even wanted as his friend. It has come to an end. Time to move on to the next Soldier, Sailor, Marine, etc.

I do not understand the sadness and loss I feel. Could it be because I built up something in my mind that wasn’t really there? I do not think so. When you try to meet the needs of another, that may happen. Their gratitude is nothing more than gratitude. I never thought it was more, at least intellectually. That is one of the things of which I am certain.

He used to e-mail me whenever he could. I’ve e-mailed him a few times now, and I am worried that something is wrong. He is a good and decent Christian man. Did Afghanistan have a negative effect on him? He went through Hell over there. Does he have PTSD?

I suppose some of my fears may be that I can no longer help him. I will never know what he saw because he is a Man, he will only discuss that with his buds (which is understandable), I am no longer useful to him.

AHA! Could that be it? I am no longer useful to him? That would be very selfish! Am I doing this for myself, or am I doing this for our Servicemembers? Well, I remain anonymous to the world, so I don’t do it for the glorification. I am on a fixed income, but I still send care packages as often as I can. I know it is not as often as everyone else, but I still try to send them. They are needed.

He loves the children, and they loved him. He is a very special man, and I will never hear from him again. I believe that is part of why my heart aches. I cared too much. Is that possible? NO! Maybe I cannot put on paper how I really feel, maybe it’s a combination of these reasons and more, but I need to write it down in the hopes of getting back to normal. I will move on to another Soldier in a little while. I just don’t ever want to stop praying for him, and I do not to forget ‘him’. Is that one of my fears? Yes. I don’t ever want to forget, but am I allowed to? I am shamed in my own eyes for even think this way, but I have seen it happen before.

I am trying so hard to write a post that may help someone else who is also going through the changes of caring for a Soldier you don’t know, becoming close to this person, and then it is over just like that. Of course you’ll be happy they are ‘home’ and alive. Maybe it is just time for us to realize that it’s okay to admit we are sad. We can remember them. We can continue to pray for them. But we were never anyone they ever really knew, and they owe us NOTHING. We were never a part of their lives.

We were not in a foxhole with them. We did not raise their children. We did not do a lot of things, but we cared enough to step in for a time to let them know that we support them. After all, is it not they, and not we, who should know they are loved? They are, because it is they, not we, who are fighting to keep us free.

Just try not to care so personally. Scratch that. I’ll care as much as I wish, thank you very much. I don’t even know if this what is bothering me. Do I love him? No. I don’t know him that way. I’m not that kind of a lady. However, it is the seperation, no more emails, he’s writing in his blog very seldom and some things I wish I could do for him (such as all the paperwork, getting a job, readjusting, comfort, etc.) I am not able. When I cannot help him, that makes me sad. When it comes to our Armed Forces, I am ashamed to admit I feel sad. I guess I should just buck-up, eh? I will…soon.

PS. I would just like you to understand that I do believe I have only scratched the surface. I feel like I have lost a friend, and I know this isn’t true. He is a good friend to all who mean no harm to America or his family. Thank you for allowing me an outlet to speak my feelings, because it surely isn’t my mind. I wonder, is there a place for those of us who have to stay behind to go share our feelings? Hmm. May be a good idea…

PSS. I thank God for the time I did have to be his friend, and I thank God for all the members of his teams and him. They chose to go to war for us so we could sleep well at night. These are special men, and I shall always be in awe of them.

Osama bin Laden is a moderate muslim

Filed under: book, dead, jihad/ists, rape, Slavery, Talon — Rosemary Welch @ 7:03 pm

Is this a correct statement? Let us consider the facts, the evidence as some may say.

I have read much this week (and in the past) about the Koran, terrorism, torture, rape, molestation, slavery, Muslims, moderation, and much more. Today I will focus on how the Muslims who are faithful to the Koran consider Kafirs (non-believers).

Let me define some words as we begin our study of the evidence.

The kafirs are condemned to Islamic Hell because we don’t accept Mohammed as any kind of prophet or leader. We are the dhimmis, the slaves, and the slain of every continent. Unfortunately, the kafirs are the ignorant, the unknowing and the frightened. We don’t know anything about the 270 million dead killed in the name of Allah. But consider the rest of our vast ignorance…1

Here is another defination of the same word according to Muslims:

The usual translation of this Arabic word is unbeliever, but unbeliever is only a very small part of its meaning. It is the Koran that defines the word “kafir” and it says the most terrible things can happen to them. The Koranic doctrine about kafirs says they are hated and are Satan’s friends. Kafirs can be robbed, killed, tortured, raped, mocked, cursed, condemned and plotted against. The Koran does not have one good thing to say about kafirs. 2

Now let us define ‘Moderate Muslim‘ as the Muslims define it:

Islamic doctrine defines what is moderate and not moderate. Since we are dealing with Islam, we need to know that the doctrine is dualistic. Islam can have two doctrines about any issue. This follows from the Koran. The early Koran, which was written in Mecca is generally religious. The Koran written in Medina is very political and includes jihad. The two Korans are not only very different, but they also contradict each other in major ways.

So we have the possibility of two kinds of moderate Muslims, since we have two doctrines. Osama bin Laden is a moderate Muslim, who follows the Koran of Medina, the Koran of jihad. Kafirs call him an extremist or radical Muslim. Actually, Osama obeys the Koran of Medina and the Sunna of Mohammed, so he is a moderate, pious Medinan Muslim.

The jihadists on September 11, 2001 were all moderate Medinan Muslims. They were not extremists or radicals. 2

Does this not bother a whole lot of people besides me that our government is so ignorant to these facts? Now that we have gained a very little deeper understanding as to how the Muslims truly think about us, let us see what these definitions have led to in the past and what we have done about it. This is the only way we will be able to learn how to deal with our enemy.

For over the last 1400 years, 270 million kafirs have died as a result of the political doctrine of Islam. It is the biggest single source of suffering in the history of the world. 2

–Almost none of our diplomats and “experts” have never read any of the Trilogy, nor were they taught the doctrine of political Islam in college.
–Jews and Christians do not know about the Arabian Annihilation (the elimination of all Jews and Christians from Arabia).
–People don’t know that white women were the slaves of choice among Muslims for 1400 years.
–Our media and intellectuals do not acknowledge rape of the kafirs as a weapon of war.
–Christians don’t realize that they lost half their territory and 60 million people to Islam in Turkey, Syria, and North Africa.
–Political Islam destroyed half of Hindu culture.
–Political Islam annihilated most of Buddhist culture.
–Islam destroyed all of the native religious culture of Africa in Islamic areas. 1

Well, I suppose this may come as a shock to some people, it did to me and I know a tiny bit more about this topic than the average American. How can this be? Why do I know more about Communism than this war they have declared against us over 230 years ago?

This is probably why Bill Warren wrote this article, “An Ethical Basis for War Against Political Islam,” and sat down for an interview to discuss the “Kafir Dreams” with Mr. Warren is the director of the Center for the Study of Political Islam. He is also the spokesman for Political

My question to you is this, does this change anything? Is this so out of the ‘norm’ that you will not even consider it? I remember a time, long ago now, when there were many who said it was crazy to throw off the yoke of England. We would be called traitors, we would be hanged. (Okay, maybe I wasn’t actually there, but it is part of our history!) Are we going to remain ignorant as to who the enemy truly is in this war?

Am I declaring that all of Islam is at war with us? Yes, I am. We need to read up on this, because our political people, the State Department, the CIA, the FBI, the police, and anyone else who works for the government has never tackled these issues. They refuse to look into this possibility out of fear (which is also covered in these articles). Until we open our eyes and face the truth, we are sitting targets. I have been called many things in my life, but never a coward. I am not about to be a target. Are you?

Left: You have no moral authority

Filed under: Asia, Freedom, ME, milblogs, Military, Sudan, Talon, victory — Rosemary Welch @ 6:42 pm

Cross-posted @ the Talon.

I have worked many years trying to get people involved in this movement against the Sudanese government. The Left is not interested. I have contacted the black caucus in Congress only to receive a hang-up. I have called President Bush and left lengthy arguments for military action such as surrounding the state, stopping the inflow and export of products, and even action if necessary.

He did, however, send a few thousand men into Liberia. Another place where I was concerned about the people under the thumb of Charles Taylor, a war criminal who is now on trial in the Hague. Call me a whoos, but I care. I can’t stand genocide. I thought when we made that promise, ‘Never again’, we meant it. I do. Forgive me for being naive if everyone else knows better.

What did the Left do? They threw out numbers of the suffering people while on TV, just as they do now with our Soldiers, but that is as far as they are willing to go. They have not gone to Sudan or any other African country. Oh, they have those green wrist bands which everyone is supposed to wear.

Why? What good will that do? Will it make them feel better? I do not see how, because I will still know that there are people still suffering, still being raped, still being murdered, still being sold into slavery, still being burned alive, etc. But they do not want any military intervention. Why put an end to end to it? Then they might actually have to get a REAL job. Well, I want the troop intervention, and I’ll try to explain why.

Sudan is the place where Osama bin Laden was first heard of for many people. He was also provided to the USA as a trade so they could be taken off the ‘terrorist’ list at the State Department while Bill Clinton was in office, but he thought there was ‘no legally binding authority’. [What is wrong with these people?] No, you can invade Waco, Texas, but you cannot stop 9/11/2001. Yeah, I get it. NOT. Back to point.

When bin Laden left Sudan, he was one person. Not all of his minions left with him, and there are still many more of them in hills and mountains of Darfur and Sudan. They are forcing the people to live in fear, to live under sharia law, to become muzlims or else! With the Janjaweed and al Qaida, the Darfurians don’t stand a chance without outside intervention. [BTW, the Darfurians are Muzlims but they are African, not Middle Eastern.]

Without intervention, the genocide continues. There are now over 3,500,000 people murdered, raped, enslaved, [REALLY] tortured, starved, displaced, burned alive, etc. The Left has more rallies, and they collect a lot of money from unsuspecting people who truly wish to help. The money is used for their next rally, not for the Darfurian people. How is that compassionate? How does that stop anything? These people understand one thing: Force. Since the Left believes so strongly in Darwinism, you’d think they’d understand, ‘Only the strong survive.’

Update: These three links are from Pajamas Media, and it is an interview with a FREED SLAVE from Sudan. Listen, PLEASE.

Part I and Part III. This video is Part II.

In case you are worried about how much time this will take away from your precious day, this one is only 5 minutes long. It seemed like it was only one minute.

Hat tip: Pajamas Media, and a great big THANK YOU!

Left: You have no moral authority Part II.**

Last week I addressed the Sudan situation. This week I would like to touch on the Tibet situation for a moment, and then I want to address another issue in a larger context. If you would like to review or read last week’s post, it is right here. It is also the lead in to Part II. You will also be able to watch the video there.

The Left has been wearing ‘Free Tibet’ on their car bumpers for over 50 years now, but what do they do when they finally have an opportunity to make their voices heard? Do they call Congress? Do they call the president? I suppose some of them did. Others however, want to boycott the games of the Olympics, and they try to protest by attacking the people carrying the torch. Oh, that’s very brave! Why did they not interfere with the Chinese police? After all, they are not afraid of our police! They shrank away from these animals in fear.

It is time to address this issue. I would also like to discuss Iraq, because some of the people seem to believe that Iraqi blood is not as important as American blood is. That is the only way I can summarize it from all the cross-talking I’m hearing about changing this, we’re on the wrong path, etc. You may be surprised to find I believe we were on the wrong path myself! We did not have the policies we needed for our men and women at war, and their hands were tied. That is no way to fight a war.

Then back home, we had many discussions about bringing the troops home. Huh? Before the enemy is stomped out? If I tell my enemy when I am leaving where I have defeated them, the people who are fighting with me, side by side, will refuse to fight along side me any longer. They will abandon me, just as we would be abandoning them. I cannot blame them. They will know better than to risk their lives for a traitorous policy. Another promise broken.

Many people want the Iraqi people to step up? Have. They. Not. Been. Paying. Attention? What do they think the Anbar Awakening was all about? A tea party? Don’t forget, our Boston Tea Party may not have seemed like much at the time, but everyone remembers it!

Do they not read any IRAQI Papers? We have been gaining ground by leaps and bounds. Something we would not have been able to do as quickly but for the IRAQIS Leading the fight! They are taking the fight to the enemy, and it doesn’t matter what their religion is anymore. They are tired of it. It has nothing to do with what we are saying in our comfortable homes, and the Left is saying a lot of the wrong things, in my humble opinion (IMHO).

Many people, including Congressmen, have stated that they want the troops withdrawn one battalion of troops every month, no matter the conditions on the ground. They believe this will encourage the Iraqis to fight harder, the government to come together quicker. Since when? We should send some of these people first to my neighborhood so they could sit down with the GANGS and ‘talk’ with them so they will put down their arms! Only so they may learn how truly difficult it is when you’re dealing with people who truly hate you and wish you dead.

If we are not wise, these policies will cause the world to believe it all depends on the politics of the day in the United States of America, not the commitments made, whether or not to support us in any conflict. It may get tough. After all, in 1944, we were losing! Can you imagine if we had this press back then? I wonder how they would have reported the Battle of the Bulge?

Do you ever wonder what these other countries will do with this knowledge if we decide to cut and run? Especially Iraqis? They will do what they know is necessary for themselves to stay alive.

Right now, they ARE stepping up to the plate. They are doing quite a good job of it, too! Just read articles such as this: Admiral: ISF fight well in Basra, Baghdad battles. Read Michael Yon, The Long War Journal, Blackfive, Iraq the Model, or even CENTCOM! Is that too much to ask?!

Some people do not understand that giving up will [unwittingly] give a victory to the terrorists, and this will forsake all the hard work and the good souls that gave all they could give. This is wrong. Then it will certainly be just as it was in Vietnam. We won on the battlefield, but lost in the minds of the American people because the press lied to the American people. Thank God for the internet!

There will be bloodshed like I don’t think even I understand if the policy of cut and run is put into practice. The genocidal maniacs will proclaim victory, and who will be there to argue their point? Who will be there to stop Iran from crossing the border and taking over Iraq? [Iran is already in the Iraq government!] You think oil prices are high now? You have no idea what is out there just waiting for you and me.

Do you not understand what genocide is? Do you not remember Vietnam? Cambodia? Do you not remember our promise, ‘Never Again’?

If we are not careful and cause America to have another black eye, she will not be the same America that will be remembered in the history books when we knew her. Then, maybe some day far away will look back and discover this land used to belong to the land of the free and the home of the brave. Yes, and we were also very prosperous. Was it greed that defeated us? Or was it the unwillingness of the comfortable to fight for their own freedom so they lost it for everyone else? This will be one of the many questions facing us during this 22nd Century and into the future…

Talon: The Eagles Up blog

Filed under: Activists, Bloggers, milblogs, ota, otb, Talon — Rosemary Welch @ 11:35 am

We opened last Monday, and we did very well. This is just a little reminder to keep up the great work, keep visiting us (because we really do appreciate it), and spread the word about our opening.

As a reminder, here is a list of our contributors at the Talon:

Mon. – Rurik. (Head honcho!)
Tue. – Rosemary and Concrete Bob.
Wed. – Wednesday Hero and John Lilyea.
Thu. – Cao and Dave Jeffers.
Fri. – Ron Winter.

These are all fabulous writers in their own right, except for that Rosemary character. I don’t know about her. She sometimes flies off the handle when she hears someone is messing with our troops. She gets so mad, I’ve never seen a person get that so blindly angry. I sure wouldn’t want to be the target of her anger! No telling with crazy people, ya know?! (lol)

Please don’t forget to read our front page also, Eagles Up! This is where you will find information about activities planned, news that isn’t covered, and a host of other issues. You may also become an activist in this war at the homefront. Remember, to win this war it will take the whole country’s will. Let us always be part of the solution. Thank you again. Have a great day.
