‘Bill of No Rights’

Filed under: fun/silly, misc — Rosemary Welch @ 3:30 am

Finally, a common sense ‘Bill of No Rights’ was emailed to me by my brother. He thought I would like it, and he was correct. He found it at Snopes.com. I shall share the pertinent part, and leave a link for you to read what Snopes has to say about. I was surprised!

Oh darn. They have copy protect! Here is the link: ‘Bill of No Rights.’ Enjoy!

My day’s lesson

Filed under: education, life, misc, otb — Rosemary Welch @ 2:11 am

I woke up, read a little, fell asleep on the computer, woke up, read a little more, fell asleep again, woke up, went to my bed for a nap, woke up, read some more, listen to BlogTalkRadio.com (Rational Black Man and A Newt One), read my email, threw out some of it, answered some of it, and basically did what I do everyday. This is a day in the life of Rosemary! 😉

I usually have 100’s of thoughts for posts during the day, and I can barely recall them when it comes to writing. If you are writer like me then you will understand this. Ever since I was a little girl, if I did not write it down when I though of it, it was gone forever.

There are so many beautiful songs that will never be sung, so many books that will never be written, so many invention that will never come to pass. At least not by me. All because I did not write it down.

The lesson? Always carry a pad of paper and pen! That is, if you are a writer. 😉

Have a nice weekend.

Send Posts, Please!

Filed under: misc, otb — Rosemary Welch @ 12:34 am

Where has the time gone? I started this morning to move my old posts to my site, and it’s almost 6pm! I’m just working on one site, at that. I would like to have something good for my readers to check. Would you please help me while I continue this maddening, lengthy, time-consuming, finger hurting, isn’t-there-a-better-way project? Thank you so much. 😉

Dear Readers,

I apologize for not having written anything yet. Besides my moving problems, I really don’t have much to say about this election. Well, I was raised that if I have nothing nice to say, it’s better to say nothing at all. We all know I can go on a quite skilled tyrade! I’m not even inspired enough to do that. Why not? Because I want them both to just GO AWAY!

Neither one of them have the first idea what our Constitution declares which came directly from our Declaration of Independence! I think there are many people who truly love this country, and we do not like the way this country is headed…to a very dangerous place. Extinction? Maybe, but I believe that those of us who love this country will not allow that to happen. Oh boy, I guess I do have some anger issues. Good thing writing it out works for me! 😉

PS. That means after it is written, I forget about it and go on to the next thing. Just in case you were wondering.

No words of wisdom

Filed under: misc, otb, rant — Rosemary Welch @ 10:12 pm

How is your day going? I pray it is going well. Mine? You really want to know? ARGHH! How can a teeny weeny room need so much cleaning? Every single solitary piece of furniture, clothing, tables, etc. has not escaped the watchful eye of my brother. (Me too.) I swear it, you never realize how much STUFF you have that can be THROWN AWAY! Where did it all come from? Who hid it? How did that over there get in here?!

Well. There’s really no sense in ranting about it, since I am the one that begged for it. That should teach me to be careful what I ask for…NOT. It might be painful, but it’s necessary. A good cleaning helps to the mind clear. You may not believe it, but it’s true. Doesn’t mean ya have to like it, though. lol

So, in the meantime, ya’ll have a great time with linking back to me and then trackbacking. I’ll try to find an article to link back to with. How about Wednesday’s Hero? Yes. I like that one. If you want words of wisdom, may I suggest some of the links from the posts that have trackbacked to me? 😉

If you could, please find something to read on the post I did yesterday. Gee, wouldn’t ya know it? The computer is offline! Argghhh! We can fix it. It’s just one more pain. lol. Goodness, it took longer to fix the problem than it did to write this. Hmm. Have a great weekend.

WARNING: Possible Area Code Scam

Filed under: crime, fraud, misc — Rosemary Welch @ 6:26 pm

A friend of mine received an email from ATT warning him of this new area code scam. It appears that the area codes 809, 284, and 876 are located in the Virgin Islands.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T.

They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has-been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc.

In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls.

If you call from the US, you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute.

Or, you’ll get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. Unfortunately, when you get your phone bill, you’ll often be charged more than $24,100.00.

WHY IT WORKS:

The 809 area code is located in the British Virgin Islands (The Bahamas). the dominican actually.

The charges afterwards can become a real nightmare. That’s because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You’ll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong.

Please forward this entire message to your friends, family and colleagues to help them become aware of this scam.

Hmm. Something smells fishy to me, so I won’t give the contact number for customer service. I’ve never received a letter or an e-mail from AT&T with so many misspelled words! It may be a scam, it may not. I just thought that, in the matter of public awareness, I should share this information with you. Have a good day.

Update: I was correct. Snopes.com has the down-low on this. It is true that this is a scam, but it had the people all around me afraid. Why? I don’t know. I never answer those! lol. Have a nice day.

News dump

Filed under: Free Speech, Freedom, misc, News, Religion — Rosemary Welch @ 6:31 am

At this point I am too overwhelmed with news e-mails, so I am going to just put them all right here so you can choose which ones interest you. Sorry I didn’t have the time to write about each one, but I’m only human!

1. Kickin’ Ass. It’s the actual name of the article from JammieWearingFool and this MNF-Iraq video. Date: 3/31/08
2. OPERATION: LOVE FROM HOME. Get your UNSEALED cards to Kat no later than June 7, 2008 for the July 4th cards from home for our guys and gals in the Military. Date: 4/4/08
3. Obama: Socialist Agenda? This is a video from John over at the Stop the ACLU. It is a discussion between Mark Styen and Glenn Beck on Obama’s agenda. Date: 4/11/08
4. This is the actual e-mail: U.S. State Department Undermines Jewish Rights and Defies International Law – The Tale of a “U.S.-Palestinian Partnership” about this: U.S.-Palestinian Partnership. This was forwarded to me by Eli E. Hertz about what the State Dept. is up to now. I believe we REALLY need to get rid of ALL of them. You can watch the video here. Date: 4/14/08
5. Hezbollah Muslim Converts to Christianity — Amazing Testimony. You can watch a clip here and decide for yourself. Date: 4/14/08

6. Michael Yon says that his book, “Moment of Truth in Iraq” is selling very well, but the thing he likes best is stepping on American soil. What a guy! Date: 4/16/08
7. The Aztlan Civil Liberties Union. Leave it to the ACLU to approve of illegal activities such illegal aliens. Why don’t they ever side with America? Thanks John, Stop the ACLU! Date: 4/23/08
8. I have quite a few links from a black activist website for this one topic: Pardon Ramos and Compean. Black Leader Urges Pardon for Incarcerated Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean, Bush Criticized for Pardoning Drug Offenders, Embezzler While Leaving Border Patrol Agents Behind Bars, Black Activist Says Drug Smuggler’s Guilty Plea Reason to Revisit Presidential Pardon for Ramos and Compean, Black Churches to Participate in Day of Prayer for Jailed Border Patrol Agents and this one was written in December of last year Justice for two. This site is fabulous. There is another issue important to all of us, not just them: Black Activist Asks: If Courts Can Gut Second Amendment, How Can We Assume 13th Amendment Ban on Slavery is Safe?. The website is Project 21: The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives.
9. Ken Timmerman has two follow-up stories to his first one, Kurds Provide Safe Haven for Christians, which make me very sad. Here they are: Christians Face Extinction in Northern Iraq and Christians Want Police Protection in Iraq. Why is there no screaming from OUR pulpits? Why are we not chopping off heads? Why are we not burning down towns? Mosques? Oh, that’s right. WE DON’T THAT KIND OF CRAP. But we should at least acknowledge there is a problem and a hardship (to say the least) taking place with our brethren.
10. From Radio Free Asia, I have this article: Two Tibetan Buddhist Nuns Detained in Protest.

11. Did you miss the 60 Minutes with Justice Scalia? No fear. John from Stop the ACLU has the video! Scalia Explains Originalism.
12. Many people wanted to weigh in on the courts decision to allow voter ids. Isn’t it amazing that we have to go to court in the middle of a war, or for any time actually, to maintain our Sovereignty? Let’s start with John from Stop the ACLU: ACLU Extremely Upset with Supreme Court Decision on Indiana Voter ID Law. Then there is the Nat’l Center for Public Policy Research: Supreme Court Endorsement of Photo ID Election Rule Hailed by Black Activists. Stephen Franks also weighs in with this: Supreme Court Says YES to Voter ID. In case you don’t my opinion on this ruling, D’oh! What took ya so long?
13. ACT! For America has a couple articles. Here they are: Strategic Collapse in the War on Terror by Joseph Myers at American Thinker, and Outlawing the Pig.
14. Now for a couple articles from the ACLJ. The first one is to protect our military Chaplains’ right to pray. Can you believe it? Well, read this: Protecting Military Chaplains. Just in case you do not believe this is a problem, read this! Christian Bookstore Reinstated at VA Hospitals. Why was it excluded in the first place, and why did we have to go to court to get our right back? I’m sure muz-i-lums have no problem. This is becoming dangerous. The next article will show how far down that slope we have gone: Victory for Free Speech at Elementary School Student Talent Show. You really want to get under my skin? Go after the children. Go after my religion. You’ve basically just named my two reasons for living!

Alright, this is enough for now. I’ll do another one soon. Very soon! I still have too full of an inbox. Now, back to what I was doing…

The Tease

Filed under: milblogs, misc, otb, pics — Rosemary Welch @ 4:08 am

I’m going to be working on my post for Talon over at Eagles Up! tonight. It is posted Tuesday, but I need to have it in by Monday morning. I say morning, because it gives Rurik, the Editor-in-Chief, time enough to go through it, let me know if I was able to keep partisan politics out of it, see if it makes any kind of sense for the readers, and all that jazz. He is a very gracious man, though, so it shouldn’t be too difficult…so one would think.

Last week? I couldn’t get logged in to post my brilliant article which was riddled with partisan politics, LOL. That is why I am SOOOOOOOO not waiting until Sunday night, Monday morning to send it to him to check it out.

This week’s post doesn’t have any politics in it, or at least it shouldn’t. It will be about the Vietnam Wall. What about The Wall? Ah, you’ll have to go to Talon either late Monday evening or Tuesday morning to find that out! hehehe. Hey, I’ve got to tease Eagles Up’s new blog so more people will go and read the brilliant writers (besides me) and give them their due.

If you’d like to leave a comment, please go directly to the person’s site who wrote the article. There are no comments and trackbacks as of now. This was a management decision which I agree with as per the explanation received. The names of the authors and their sites are on the upper right-hand side of the site. Please stop over everyday, because there is always something of interest for you. Thank you for all of your support so far and continued.

SNOOPER, e-mail Rurik! He’s trying to reach you. Thanks.
